If there was such thing as the design factor, im sure Simon Cowel would instantly give a record deal, regardless of whether the public like it or not.

I honestly cannot think of anything to add, its praticaly perfect...

Shaun, the one thing I would point out is that around the Earth and the hands that you've cut out from other things, there's still a bit of the background left, and it looks a bit untidy. Try using a bit of feather on your selection, this can help. There are also plenty of tutorials on cutting things out online, and some really good tips in Martin Evening's Photoshop CS3 for Photographers.

I really like the design Shaun; you’ve got the colours and lighting spot on. Just take a look at the arm on the back cover; you can still see some of the original background.

I can’t see anything else to do apart from maybe move the track listing up slightly so there’s an equal space above and below the track listing (using the arm and artist’s name as the top and bottom). Also have you tried the writing on the spine further down? It just because its half on the county and half on the sea, but it doesn’t look bad where it is.

The main thing that sticks out is the earth, being the forepoint of your whole design.. but because of this feature choice it has to be perfect. If you look at the outer edge it still looks really rough where you've cut it out and, doesn't really give off a realistic effect. Since it's so different from the background and the hands in quality of the lighting.

I can see the concept you've gone for and I like it, but I'm slightly worried about how much manipulation has been used overall and if it would be enough to meet the assignment criteria. As it seems to look like unedited pictures cropped and stuck on? Correct me if I'm wrong cause subtle changes could've been made, obviously I haven't seen the original images.

I think your text on the back looks abit too messy, it's also a little bit, because of certain parts where it covers in the clouds it makes the text hard to read at certain points, kinda takes away from the simplistic feel your going for over all.

Keep developing it though, there's a winning idea in there.

Hi Shaun

I cant really thing of much to add, that hasn't already been said.

The Earth may need rounding a bit better and the full background taken away from behind the arm on the back cover.

I like the design it stands out and is very eye catching, other than the problems stated i can not find anything wrong with it.

Thanks, Martyn

Your design looks brilliant, the typeface you have chosen is well suited and I like how you have positioned your logo, made in England text and barcode. I can’t think of anything else to say, you have done a good job of the design.

Thanks Everyone,

This is proof that text messages are great for communication!

I have taken on board the feedback that you have all been so kind to give.

I will make the amendments and upload for you all to see again.

Thanks

Its a great design, very creative and well thought out, its great.

I really like the way that the image is mirrored onto both sides.

I really like it, Other than whats already been said, I think the light version of the typeface you have used for the album number is possibly slightly too light and needs bulking up slightly. Are there different weights available?

Also watch out for the contrast issues on the spine. The text kind of blends into the background!

I really like the way you have mirrored the image but not exactly. Its really good, Well Done!

Just another tiny thing... I dont like the way you have put the text under the barcode and the logo. I know you have tried to add alignment, I just feel that bit doesnt work. Perhaps you could put it at side aligned to bottom axis of barcode and logo rather than under it (i mean to the right).
